CLIP Program (Contracted Learning for Individual Pacing)

Welcome and thank you for considering the Riverview Learning Center! At the RLC we offer a variety of opportunities for students to take alternative routes to a high school diploma with the support from school staff who work to meet the individual needs of students. Through our positive culture, we encourage students to become responsible, respectful, and resilient in their academic and life skills.

The Riverview Learning Center supports students who find the traditional school setting does not meet their needs and desire a different way to learn. The CLIP program provides educational opportunities for students in grades 9-12 who are seeking an alternative way to earn a high school diploma. Class schedules are related to student learning/graduation plans, developed by school staff with student and parent input. Students attend classes 8-15 hours each week. Parents provide 15-20 hours of monitoring student work from home each week. All CLIP students must meet district graduation requirements and pass the state-required assessments during the student’s graduation year to qualify for graduation.

Applicants for the CLIP Program should possess the following (these are the success criteria used to determine approved placement in the program):

  • A dedication to come to school consistently, on time and prepared to engage with school.

  • A willingness to take accountability for your responsibilities at school and be held accountable.

  • Demonstrate skillset of a self-directed learner through completion of daily assigned work and show progress on long-term projects.

  • A willingness to take direction and follow through on meeting academic and behavior expectations.

  • A commitment to earning credits towards graduation.

  • A commitment to establish positive relationships with peers and school staff and work effectively in a small group setting.

  • A commitment to advance academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.

Through our positive culture, we encourage our students to become passionate, life-long learners, caring and respectful citizens, while providing strong support for our families and community. Our students and school staff have chosen to come to school and work at the RLC; for this reason, our culture stays positive, and our students benefit greatly.

Thank you for considering the Riverview Learning Center!
